Our Wine

Susan and David Lermer have a working farm in Franschhoek, somewhere behind the monument. This is their first foray into wine making, and an auspicious debut it is indeed. The Chloë Shiraz, named after one of their daughters, is an easy-drinking wine pocked with fruit flavours, smooth and well balanced, with good supportive tannin’s apparent in the mouth and a hint of spiciness. Great with venison, coq au vin, steaks and even, perhaps, a light curry. The label includes a charming etching of Trout Cottage, one of the cottages on the farm, which has its own trout dam.
